Gabrovo’s Mechatronica entered global market with machine for tubes An invention helped Gabrovo-based company Mechatronica gain positions in the global machine engineering. At present every fifth tube for cosmetics or toothpaste is produced by its own machines. This is explained by the fact that the company has for customers such world famous companies like Unilever that liked Bulgarian machinery because they are more economical. The result has been established via investment in scientific research. In order to succeed the company allocates a large part of its revenues for R&D. At present the company’s research team is working on a successive innovative product, too. Mechatronica produces machines for packages for pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food industries. It was privatized in 1991 by STS invest holding. Breakthrough on foreign markets comes a few years ago thanks to the Machine Kombis, which makes tubes for cosmetics with a new technology, working with thin films in order to save resources. On a monthly basis from the workshops of Mechatronica two new machines come out, as over 95% of production is planned for export.
