Vipom SPJSC - Vidin stopped working on January 17th because of a market slump. The personnel went on a 32-day unpaid leaves. The company has debts to Elma JSC - Troyan and to some companies in Harmanli. Nearly 100 workers will be laid off.

45 companies with Bulgarian and foreign participation, employers of more than 50 000 workers and with annual turnover of over USD 2 billion founded Union of employers in Bulgaria. At the Constituent Assembly 45 companies paid in officially an initial contribution of BGN 2 000, among which Investment Information Agency, Vladimex, Aroma JSC, Kremikovtzi Corporation JSC, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Overgas Holding JSC, Bulstrad Insurance and Re-Insurance JSC, LUKoil Neftochim JSC, Airline Balkan, Domein Boyar, Kremikovtzi, Balkanpharma JSC and Vassilevi Brothers.

The company Vipom JSC succeeded gradually to stabilize in the fourth year of its privatization. The sole pump construction plant in the State was privatized in 1997 at the first wave of the mass privatization. The main stake of 51 per cent is a possession of Trud and Capital Holding JSC and 26 per cent are of MEBO Vipom invest. The products of the company are with trade mark Vida. The capacity of the plant at the moment is 70 per cent. The markets in Russia, Algeria, Egypt and Ukraine are restored
