Microsoft opens innovation centre in Bulgaria's Sofia Tech Park US-based multinational technology company Microsoft said on Thursday it has officially opened an innovation centre in Bulgaria's capital which will allow students and startup companies to gain access to innovative solutions. The investment in the innovation centre, situated in Sofia Tech Park, amounts to 350,000 levs ($192,800/178,800 euro), Microsoft said in a statement. The centre covers a total area of 400 sq m. "The Innovation Center provides Bulgarians with access to modern technologies and solutions.[...] Our country has already proved its potential in this direction and we are happy that Microsoft has contributed to the international success of Bulgarian," Kalin Dimchev, CEO of Microsoft Bulgaria, Macedonia and Kosovo, said in the statement. Bulgarian software company InterConsult Bulgaria and entrepreneurial company Start It Smart were Microsoft's main partners on the project.
