Last year foreign investments in Bulgarian capital market were USD 67.1 million, according to the annual report of Securities and Stock Exchanges Commission (SSEC). In 1997 and 1998 investments were USD 29.7 million and USD 64.2 million. The turnover on the stock exchange went down by 75 per cent as compared to 1998. Top 10 most traded companies are: Electroimpex JSC, Hydroelementi JSC, Bulgartabac JSC, Neftochim JSC, Toplivo JSC, Sofiaplast JSC, Solvay - Sodi JSC, Petrol Holding Group JSC, Sopharma JSC, and Blagoevgrad - BT JSC.

The end of the financial 1999 shows a cosiderable change for the worse of the state of one of the biggest former privatization funds Petrol holding group. The net profit decreased from BGN 5.13 million to BGN 0.71 million. The reduced profit of the company is due to the bad economic conditions in the country as a whole, was explained from the company.

Sofia City Court registered changes for Toplivo - JSC: the members of the Board of Directors Mr. Marin Stoyanov and Mr. Plamen Kamburov were erased; Mr. Bedo Doganian and Mr. Valentine Hristov were registered for members of the Board of Directors; the company will be represented by the Executive Directors Mr. Bedo Doganian and Mr. Shtilian Stoyanov.

Neftinvestbank declared for the first time its main shareholders after the General Meeting. The present main shareholder - Jukos Petroleum, transferred his shares to the company of Mr. Mitko Subev Naftex, to Petrol and Toplivo, was reported from the bank. The data for the share participation are written in the verification that is prepared in an answer of a letter from Bank Supervision with which is required information for the shareholders even for those who hold under 5 per cent of the capital of the bank, was explained from the bank.

The Director of the Board of Management of LUKoil-Bulgaria SP Ltd. Mr. Valentin Zlatev stated that the company does not intend to buy the gas stations of Petrol JSC. He also rejected the claims that the company refuses to sell fuels to Petrol JSC. Meanwhile nearby the village of Bratovo, Bourgas was opened the first gas station of LUKoil in the Municipality. It is the 7th gas stations from totall 30 that the company intends to build. Neftochim JSC payed old debts of USD 70 million to the budget. One year after the privatization of the refinery, the net profit of LUKoil Neftochim JSC is over BGN 40 million.
