Bulgargaz received another deferral for the repayment of a state loan of 800 million leva The government will extend the grace period on the loan of the state-owned company Bulgargaz of 800 million leva for another three years. The money was allocated in August 2022 from the state budget through the Ministry of Energy for the purchase of natural gas and provision of working capital for the company. At that time, a three-year grace period was also provided for the repayment of the loan. Bulgargaz also has huge uncollected receivables. The largest debtor is Toplofikatsiya Sofia. These debts, as well as poorly planned finances, were one of the reasons why in the summer of 2022 the then caretaker cabinet granted the state loan of 800 million leva at 2% interest, so that the company could participate in the tenders for the supply of liquefied gas through the Revitusa terminal.
