"Toplofikatsiya Sofia" will soon become a significant state problem. Its debts to "Bulgargaz" and BEH are already 2.1 billion leva, said Valentin Nikolov, executive director of the Bulgarian Energy Holding. Last year, at the beginning of the heating season, the overdue debts of the Sofia district heating company to BEH were 1.6 billion leva, of which 850 million leva to "Bulgargaz". Then the state gas company threatened the municipal company that it would stop the supply of natural gas to it, and even seized its accounts. In order to lift the seizure, the municipal company repaid only 10 million leva of its debt. Currently, there is not even a signed contract between the Sofia district heating company and "Bulgargaz" for the supply of fuel, because the municipal company does not meet the requirements of the state gas company.
